In theme with creating an “OSOTO HEAVEN/PARADISE”, Nagato Yumoto Onsen town has several riverbed terraces right in the rivers of Taineiji and Otozure where visitors can relax and enjoy special experiences curated by four of the town’s onsen ryokans.
Located in Nagato Yumoto, this rental car company is perfect for those travelling via public transport and then wishing to go for sightseeing day trips near to the onsen town. Stylish imported cars such as MINI from Germany and RENAULT from France are available to be used.
Located on Otozure’s promenade is one of the town’s public onsen footbaths, where one can relax and rest whilst admiring the scenery of the river. Winter will see the town add Nagato Yuzukichi to the footbaths to bring in the winter solstice.
By the Otozure river, inside a park is the town’s larger footbath with a traditional pavilion where one can sit undercover and relax whilst taking a moment to soak one’s feet in the footbath and at the same time gaze upon the beautiful cherry blossom trees surrounding. Nagato Yuzukichi will be added in winter to welcome the solstice.
Throughout the town, dotted along the promenade and various other spaces, are numerous spacious benches and tables to allow everyone to enjoy a slow appreciation of the nature and surroundings.
Every year in early September, visitors can enjoy the spectacle of the “Nanjo Odori” where the festival sees the people dance through the town starting from Taineiji Temple to Sumiyoshi Shrine to celebrate the rich 400 year history of this dedication dance ritual.
